The unique, pendulous nature of this colorful shrub has awarded it the nickname 'Little Volcano'. It lights up the landscape at a time when many other plants stop blooming. It is a member of the Pea (Fabaceae) family giving it nitrogen fixing properties, forming a symbiotic relationship with soil bacteria. Plant using a success kit. Cut back hard in late winter to promote lush growth and more blooms.
