Timor Black bamboo grows to 35 feet with up to 3 inch culms (canes) and is cold hardy to 27 degrees. Timor Black is an outstanding black tropical bamboo from the forests on the island nation of Timor. The bamboo's canes start out green, slowly turn brown and then black. It's a loosely clumping bamboo with a manageable footprint and makes a striking focal point in any landscape project. Clumping bamboo spreads outward from a central point and does not spread out of control. Plant in the ground using a Success Kit and fertilize with Harrell's every other month.
